Microsoft Defender Troubleshooting

Introduction

During Sensor installation, Microsoft Defender's real-time protection may block the process, preventing the Sensor from installing properly. This guide outlines how to temporarily disable real-time protection to ensure a successful installation.

Steps to Disable Real-Time Protection

1. Open Windows Security
   Press the Windows key and type "Windows Security." Select it from the search results.
2. Navigate to Virus & Threat Protection
   In the Windows Security window, click on Virus & Threat Protection.
3. Turn Off Real-Time Protection
   Under the Virus & Threat Protection Settings, locate Real-time Protection and toggle it off.
   Important: This action temporarily reduces system protection.

Proceed with the Sensor installation by following the instructions in the Installing the Sensor Guide.
