Installing  "Sensor"

Getting started is easy! But first we need to make sure that you are the administrator of your organization - if you use G-suite then we need the Google Admin and if you use Office 365 then we need the Domain Admin. We need you to be an administrator in order to allow "Sensor" to gather the appropriate meta data to protect your organization.

Step 1. If you are running Microsoft Defender or other Virus Protection / EDR software then you will need to disable those temporarily.

Step 2.  Download Sensor to protect your Windows or Mac at the following link:

Step 3. Once downloaded, run the executable, enter some basic information about yourself you follow the installation prompts - it may take a few minutes depending on how many libraries you machine requires.

Step 4. Please reboot your machine

Step 5. Open your email in Chrome or Edge (preferably Outlook Web or Gmail) and look for an email that we sent to "verify" your email.

  • note: please check you junk folder if you don't see the email in your inbox

Step 6. Once you have clicked to "verify" your email, you will be taken to a screen where you can access the dashboard by clicking on the “flurp” (our brand) on the right side of your screen and then click on the sprocket. This will launch the "dashboard".

Step 7. Click "External Accounts" and add your primary organization email (should be the same email you used when installing the sensor). This will connect via Oauth to Microsoft or Google and is the reason you need to be an administrator.

Step 8. If you use the Outlook thick client then follow these instructions: https://ops.netarx.com/knowledge-base/outlook-full-client-install

  •  If you don't use the Outlook thick client then skip step one and move on to Step 9.

Step 9. If you have many employees, then use our RMM version of "Sensor" installer by going to var.netarx.com/home or alternatively have employees download and install the client manually by visiting https://app.netarx.com
